Kayveas insists he is rightful MyPPP chief, asks Maglin to show proof

M Kayveas insists he is MyPPP's rightful president, citing a letter from the Registrar of Societies as proof.
Speaking to reporters after the party's AGM today, Kayveas stated that the ROS letter, dated May 18, confirms him as the rightful president.
“I’m the legitimate president, no one else is the president."
Kayveas' insistence comes after another faction of the party led by Maglin Dennis D'Cruz held its own AGM at PWTC yesterday.
D'Cruz claimed he was appointed president by the 1,250 delegates present at the meeting.
He said that his members had met with an officer from the ROS on Thursday, and were verbally told to go ahead with their plans to hold their AGM.
Kayveas, however, challenged D’Cruz to produce written evidence.
“Can Maglin show this letter?
"Please don’t confuse the public and my members. That is a fake AGM,” he said.
Kayveas claimed that a police report had also been also lodged to prevent today’s AGM from happening.
“Why are you so scared, if you’re legitimate?” he asked.

D’Cruz’s faction previously claimed they had sacked Kayveas from the party, but the latter had disputed this.
Adding to the confusion was D’Cruz’s faction claiming that disciplinary action had been taken on Kayveas on the orders of BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
Kayveas, meanwhile, confirmed that MyPPP was officially out of BN.
“If they (the other faction) wants to stay, they have to form another party and then join BN.
“MyPPP will be independent,” he said.
'Faction broke into HQ'
At the AGM today, Kayveas also showed CCTV footage which showed D'Cruz’s supporters allegedly breaking into MyPPP's headquarters.
Kayveas claimed the group had also “stolen” important documents, which included his passport, birth certificate and degree, among others.
Kayveas, meanwhile, confirmed that 1,386 delegates were present at the AGM today.
The AGM was officiated by Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan president Mohamed Arshad Raji.
Explaining his presence at the AGM, Arshad said he did not come in any political capacity.
“I came because I fight for the people’s harmony and unity. I believe Kayveas invited me because we are the same in this aspect,” he said.

“Patriot’s objective is regardless of race and religion, we only care about unity. Kayveas’ objective is the same, that’s why I was willing to officiate the AGM.” - Mkini
