Kayveas resigns as adviser to transport minister

MyPPP president M Kayveas today confirmed that he has resigned from his post as special adviser to the transport minister.
“Yes. No more already, effective May 18, the same day I got the letter (by the Registrar of Societies on his status as MyPPP president).
“Because there’s a new government, we got to be fair,” he told reporters after MyPPP’s AGM in Kuala Lumpur today.
Kayveas’ role as special adviser to then transport minister Liow Tiong Lai, to which he was appointed in January 2014, had accorded him ministerial status.
Current Pakatan Harapan Transport Minister Anthony Loke revealed on Tuesday that no BN political appointees for agencies under his ministry had tendered their resignations.
However, he said it would only be a matter of time before the terms of these appointees are terminated.
“Of course, all these appointments by the former minister will be terminated. We will make fresh appointments soon. There is no rush to appoint anybody.
“So far, none of the political appointees, mostly from MCA, have yet to resign. Probably they are waiting for my instruction.

“But I think they should know that as political appointees, their terms will not be continued,” Loke told Malaysiakini after clocking in on his first day at the Transport Ministry. -Mkini
