'Expelled or Resigned' Kayveas: Saturday's AGM is 'illegal'

KUALA LUMPUR: The infighting at MyPPP continues as Tan Sri M. Kayveas (pic) declared that any party annual general meeting (AGM) held other than the one on Sunday (May 27) is "illegal".
"This is the official annual general meeting (AGM), everything else is not," he said at his speech at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall on Sunday (May 27).
This is in apparent reference to the AGM held on Saturday (May 26) by Datuk Seri Maglin D'Cruz who had also declared he is the party's number one.
Maglin had claimed that 1,250 delegates have appointed him as president during the AGM on Saturday.
Kayveas, however claimed he has about 6,000 signatures nationwide to support his presidency and that the Registrar of Societies had issued him a letter on May 18, stating him as the rightful president of the party.
He also showed CCTV footage allegedly showing that Maglin's faction had broken into the party headquarters and wrecked the property.
Also present at the AGM held by Kayveas was Institutional Reforms Committee member and National Patriots Association president Brig Jen (Rtd) Datuk Mohamed Arshad Raji.
On April 30, Kayveas posted on his social media account that he was withdrawing his resignation letter and declared himself as president again after saying he resigned on April 25.
However Maglin, who is acting president of the party, maintained that Kayveas had been expelled from the party as of April 25.- Star
