Arrangements being made to send lecturer’s remains to Gaza

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas wants family to return home.
Lecturer Fadi Mohammed Al Batsh was gunned down while on his way for prayers in Setapak on Saturday.
KUALA LUMPUR: The remains of Dr Fadi Mohammed Al Batsh, who was gunned down in Setapak early yesterday, will be repatriated to Gaza, in Palestine, as requested by the family.
Palestinian ambassador to Malaysia Anwar H Al Agha said the embassy had received clear orders from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to take care of everything, including the family’s passage back to Gaza.
“The process to send back the remains has already started, but it would probably take some time as the autopsy process is still going on.
“Also, we have to discuss with the government of Egypt since we will be taking the body from Cairo to Gaza.
“It’s not an easy job, but we have to obey and respect the rule and regulations of each country involved,” he said when met after visiting the Hospital Selayang mortuary here today.
Anwar is confident that the Malaysian side would cooperate in this endeavour and that Fadi’s elder brother, who is expected to arrive later today via Germany, would also help in the repatriation process.
Fadi, a lecturer in electrical engineering with a private institution here, was gunned down outside Idaman Puteri condominium in Setapak while walking to Surau Medan Idaman to lead the subuh prayer about 6am yesterday.
Two gunmen were said to have waited for him on their motorcycle and fired 10 shots at the 35-year-old victim. - FMT
