Yoursay: MB Negeri Sembilan using age-old tactic - shoot first, apologise later

YOURSAY | ‘Will Mohamad Hasan be held responsible if his words bear fruit?’
Worried Sick: Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan has brought shame on the people of Negeri Sembilan. I had such great respect for him. Now I know he has no scruples.
I listened to his talk to the mainly young members of Umno instigating them to wreck business outlets that slander the BN government. Yet he has the gall to say that it was said in jest. How stupid he thinks we are.
If there is any violence in the state before or after GE14, will Mohamad be held responsible? It is a pity, isn't it? One man can cause so much of trouble and hate for self-serving reasons.
Red Hero: So, the Negeri Sembilan MB will in all likelihood not be investigated for this serious allegation of inciting violence, although police reports against him have already been lodged.
But Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is already being investigated for singing an anti-GST song with children. Go figure.
Hank Marvin: Good move, brigadier general Mohamad Arshad Raji. The Negeri Sembilan menteri besar is caught in the act.
It is clear for anyone who has seen the video that he was inciting violence in his speech. With Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin standing next to him to boot.
Nuckin Futs: "Mohamad had since claimed that his remarks were taken out of context, and were only meant to inspire confidence among the youth to work harder."
Right. Working harder on violence? How can this video be taken out of context? Shameful menteri besar, brainless youths.
Kamikasi: The “gangster-like” menteri besar, like all BN toadies, will shoot first and then say they are quoted out of context. In this case, he said he will bail out the gangsters.
Isn't this a blatant assurance to the crooks that no harm will come to them if they get physical when dealing with people they don't like.
Anonymous_b3cdcd05: This “foot in mouth” plague is reaching endemic proportions. Who encourages youth to work harder by advocating physical action against one’s opponents?
Arshad is not off the mark in admonishing Mohamad, saying that his conduct is likely to mar GE14 with violence.
The home minister recently warned that he is monitoring potential trouble-causing groups during GE14, whatever that meant. Was he in fact referring to Mohamad and his group of “hard working” vigilantes in Rembau?
Clong Views: Arshad, I salute you, sir, for chiding the menteri besar. Of course, it is common for our leaders to launch into inflammatory rhetoric, and then back track by saying the speech were taken out of context.
This is no joke. Even the home minister warned parties and their leaders not to make inflammatory remarks in the run-up to the 14th general election. But it remains to be seen if the police will actually act upon these orders.
Anonymous 2475091498015598: Yes, 61 years of Umno dominating political power in Malaysia has made them bold and arrogant enough to say anything they like.
In Parliament, we have one notorious character who can get away with using vulgar language without any consequence, another minister who is just as vulgar, and now a menteri besar acting like a hooligan.
What surprises me is Khairy being party to such uncouth behaviour in the background. So much for being an “Oxford graduate.”
Anonymous 2436471476414726: Good effort, Arshad, but the sad truth is the menteri besar will not be investigated because he belongs to that privileged group who is above the law.
This group of people can say or do anything they like, including theft and money laundering, with impunity.
Those critical of the government just need to say some milder words and the men in blue will be upon them in the blink of an eye.
Alan The Chan: Thank you, Patriot, for speaking out. I am a 77-year-old man and have seen how our beautiful, multiracial and blessed country being destroyed by the leaders we have at present.
Anonymous 07988903: Coming from an incumbent MB who is supposed to be a role model for the youth, he epitomises what is truly wrong with this nation.
51 Kebabs: Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the inspector-general of police Mohamad Fuzi Harun both said they have identified all the potential troublemakers in GE14.
The IGP even gave the figure of 1,100 potential provocateurs identified. How much is anyone willing to bet that none of those in the audience will be on that list?
Just A Malaysian: I am getting sick of this kind of barely-veiled thuggery. Stupid, greedy and evil.
Arshad, I salute you. People like yourself should be running this country. The present leaders we have belong in the gutter instead.
Mano: This really shows the behaviour of all the warlords. Give them another term, and future generations will be saddled by not just debt but begin to normalise uncouth behaviour.
Anonymous 242641505703475: Most cultures teach honesty, humility, responsibility, accountability, morality. If a person is honest, humble, responsible, accountable and moral, he will never resort to violence.
Violence is not in any culture. Violence is gangsterism. Violence is taboo in a civilised nation. Violence is thuggery.
Mahatma Gandhi taught the world to be non-violent. And he won independence for India through non-violence.
Violent leaders have no place in society; least of all in a political position. Malaysia is a peaceful nation; it has no room for violent leaders. And people should condemn such violent leaders.
What Me Worry: The Rembau MP was seen sheepishly grinning in the background when that the menteri besar was talking thrash. I wonder whether the leaders in their party condone this?
Silly question. Of course, they do. -Mkini
