Police have summoned PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad over his involvement in the "Turun Minyak, Turun Najib" protest, almost two months after the New Year's Eve gathering.
"I have been called by police to provide a statement in relation to the #TurunTurun gathering organised by Gerakan Turun Harga Minyak held on Dec 31, 2017," he said in a statement today.
Nik Nazmi, who is also a Selangor exco, was asked to present himself at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters at 10am tomorrow.
The rally drew hundreds of people who marched from the Sogo shopping centre to Dataran Merdeka.
The protest came amid rising fuel prices at that time.
During the event, rally organisers and police were engaged in a minor standoff.
Authorities had insisted that protesters were not allowed to use loud hailers or drums.
They were asked to disperse a short distance away from Dataran Merdeka, which the crowd complied with.- Mkini
