PENAMPANG: Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) will never sideline constituencies represented by the opposition in terms of development, says Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman.
He said as the government of the day, the state BN’s responsibility was to ensure the development of Sabah as a whole.
“We must help one another. We must work together for the good of Sabah.
“We live together. We built this state together. So, we must develop Sabah together to ensure it becomes a developed state,” he said at an Angpow Festival here last night.
Musa said Penampang, whose member of Parliament and state assemblymen were from the opposition, continued to be given attention by the BN government, including in times of need.
He said this included the widening and deepening of rivers in Penampang to address flood woes during heavy rain.
Apart from that, he said during Prime Minister Najib Razak’s visit to Penampang last month, the premier announce the approval of RM8.5 million to upgrade the Donggongon market.
“This is our (BN) role. Even though Penampang is (represented by) the opposition, we (still) have to help.
“That is what BN is. We don’t treat anyone any less,” he said.
Musa also explained that the state government had a duty to ensure political stability in Sabah so that the state was economically prosperous and continued to appeal to tourists and investors.
He said if voters in Penampang would elect BN representatives in the next general election, he would ensure the constituency was further developed.
“We will make sure people come here to invest.
“(So) choose the right party in the general election and that party is BN,” he said.
During the event, Musa also announced a contribution of RM200,000 to the Fook Tet Kung Temple in Donggongon here. -FMT
