A senior Umno leader has warned tycoon Robert Kuok to not forget his roots and how he has emerged as one of Malaysia's richest man.
Malay-daily Utusan Malaysia quoted Umno supreme council member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, who claimed the Hong Kong-based billionaire's wealth was made due to the policies and administration of BN rather than the DAP, and Kuok should be mindful.
"This is the problem when someone is rich, they forget their roots. When by right he became rich from the BN government's policies, not the DAP's," said Tajuddin (photo).
He was responding to allegations made by blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin that Kuok purportedly has a secret agenda to topple the BN government for the benefit of DAP.
"This he has to remember...Don't ever forget who he really is,” Tajuddin said of Kuok.
“We are warning him, if the allegations (by Raja Petra) are true," the deputy agriculture and agro-based industries minister was reported as saying at a press conference in Pasir Salak yesterday.
Raja Petra in a posting on his Malaysia Today blog yesterday claimed Kuok purportedly has a long-standing agenda to replace the current BN administration with a DAP-led federal coalition in order to allow the Chinese to have dominant power in Malaysia.
He further claimed in order to realise the dream, Kuok had from behind the scenes pushed for a wave of change from the Malays as the majority community.- Mkini
