Four police reports lodged against Mahfuz in Pahang

Four police reports have been lodged against Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar over his action in insulting the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, who is ill, and using a video clip on the ruler to crack jokes when giving a political talk.
Two of the reports were lodged by Pahang Umno Youth and the Pahang Village Heads Welfare Association at the Kuantan district police headquarters.
Pahang Umno Youth leader Mohd Shahar Abdullah, when met, said the Pahang people should unite and strongly condemn the action by Mahfuz.
“All Umno Youth divisions in Pahang will lodge a police report on the issue in stages until action has been taken against Mahfuz under the Sedition Act 1948.
"At the same time, we also challenge the opposition in the state to state their stand within 24 hours, whether they support the statement by Mahfuz or not,” he said.
Pahang Village Heads Welfare Association chairperson Hassan Mohamad also condemned the action by Mahfuz.
"As village heads in Pahang, we feel insulted and want the Pokok Sena MP to make an open apology,” said Hassan, who lodged the police report on behalf of 65 village heads in the Kuantan district.
Two other police reports were lodged in Pekan by the penghulus in the Pekan district and the Pekan 4B Youth Association.
The reports were lodged at the Pekan district police headquarters.
