Do Not Comment On Islam If You Are Not An Ulamak

Yes, I agree, if you are not an ulamak then do not comment on Islam. And if you want to comment on Christianity then first of all become a Christian. And if you do not live in Malaysia stop talking about Malaysia. And if you are not a Member of Parliament stop talking about politics. Also, if you do not work for the MACC stop talking about corruption. And you must first of all be an economist to talk about the economy.

NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
From my previous article, ‘When Religion Is More Trouble Than Good’, the consensus of Muslims is you should not comment on Islam if you are not an ulamak (religious scholar). Only ulamak have the right to talk about Islam and if you are not an ulamak then stop talking about Islam. They use the example of only brain surgeons can perform brain surgery and you would not trust brain surgery to a trishaw-puller.
I sort of agree with this. Why must people, like you and me, who are not learned in Islam, such as the ulamak are, talk about Islam? That is like Malaysians who are not holding political office, such as you and me, talking about Malaysian politics. Can you imagine how stupid it is for people like you and me commenting about politics and general elections when we are not even a Member of Parliament?
And what about people like you and me commenting about corruption when we are not working for the MACC and hence are not trained in such matters? We see so many Malaysians talking about corruption and yet not a single one of them works for the MACC. That is like a trishaw-puller talking about brain surgery. And yet so many Malaysians talk about politics and/or corruption when they can be considered idiots regrading such matters. And it is even more ridiculous when Malaysians who are not economists, such as you and me, comment about Malaysia’s economy. Bodoh!

I am told since I live in Manchester I should not talk about Malaysia like those who live in London

In fact, the Christians say the same thing. So Muslims and Christians are united in this matter. If you are not a Christian you have no right to talk about Jesus, the Bible or Christianity. Muslims like me (and even Muslims like Zakir Naik) have no business talking about Jesus, the Bible and Christianity.
This is almost like the comments many people make that since I live in Manchester, UK, I have no right to talk about Malaysia. If I want to talk about Malaysia then I must first of all come back to Malaysia. If not I should shut up and not open my mouth and comment about Malaysia. Same like if I want to talk about Christianity — I must first convert to Christianity or else shut up.
That sort of makes sense or else it would be just like non-Muslim Chinese and Indians commenting about Sharia laws, RUU355 or Hudud. Can you imagine non-Muslim Chinese and Indians preaching to Muslims about what is right Islam and wrong Islam and that Sharia laws, RUU355 and Hudud are wrong? If people like Lim Kit Siang start talking about Islam even Chinese and Indians would think he has gone utterly mad and is an idiot.

Only those who live in Malaysia can talk about Malaysian politics, say the Pakatan Harapan people

That would be as silly as non-Muslim Chinese and Indians trying to tell Muslims that there is such a thing as liberal Muslims and extremist Muslims whereas the Qur’an does not label Muslims as liberal Muslims and extremist Muslims but merely as Muslims, fasiq, murtad, munafiq, kafir, etc. There are no liberal Muslims and extremist Muslims in the Qur’an. Those are labels that people who have never read the Qur’an give Muslims.
While I can agree that since I live in Manchester I should not be talking about Malaysia, I am puzzled why Mat Salleh who like in London and who are not Malaysian citizens talk about Malaysia. I mean at least I still have my Malaysian IC, which means I am still a Malaysian citizen. But Mat Salleh who are British citizens talk about Malaysia and Pakatan Harapan says it is okay.
In fact, Pakatan Harapan not only says it is okay but also it is good that Mat Salleh not only in the UK but in the US, Australia, etc., talk about Malaysia, 1MDB, and so on. And Chinese who live in other countries join Bersih demonstrations and protest against the Malaysian government. Should these people not shut up and not interfere in Malaysia since they do not live in Malaysia any more and some, in fact, have a PR status or are citizens of that country they live in?

Zakir Naik should first convert to Christianity if he wants to talk about Jesus, the Bible or Christianity
