Shafie Apdal's special officers remanded

Two special officers who work for Parti Warisan Sabah president Mohd Shafie Apdal have been remanded.
The pair were arrested on Thursday before being slapped with a five-day remand which will end on Tuesday, Oct 24.
Both are currently being remanded in Putrajaya. The duo purportedly serve as Shafie's private and press secretaries.
MACC deputy chief commissioner of operations Azam Baki confirmed the remand orders when contacted.
Their remands come after MACC secured a four-day remand against Shafie yesterday.
He was arrested at 9pm on Thursday night, four hours after he voluntarily turned up for questioning at the agency's Sabah headquarters in Kota Kinabalu.
Shafie arrived yesterday at the Kota Kinabalu courthouse for the remand hearing in an ambulance after being warded overnight at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital to treat his high blood pressure.
Previously, MACC had also arrested two of Shafie's younger brothers and a number of Warisan leaders in its probe into the alleged misappropriation of at least RM1.5 billion in rural development funds intended for Sabah.

The RM1.5 billion allegedly siphoned came from a total of RM7.5 billion in funds reportedly allocated for rural projects in Sabah over a six-year period.
MACC is probing some 60 companies that were awarded projects for the supply of water, electricity, and roads to help people in rural Sabah.
Shafie held the rural and regional development ministry portfolio from 2009 to 2015. He has denied involvement in the scandal.- Mkini
