Armed cops in balaclavas deployed outside HKL morgue

Police personnel clad in balaclavas and armed with machine guns have been stationed at Kuala Lumpur Hospital's Forensics Department, where the body of Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, is kept.
Dang Wangi district police chief Mohd Sukri Kaman confirmed that the personnel are from the Special Task Force on Organised Crime (Stafoc).
Mohd Sukri said police were responding to complaints from hospital security last night.
"HKL lodged a police report about two individuals, a male and a female, loitering in a suspicious manner near the HKL Forensics Department.
"Considering (the) safety factor and the current situation, police have stepped up security and deployed police assets, including Stafoc, to guard the compound of the Forensics Department," he added in a statement.
Earlier today, a South Korean journalist with Korea Broadcasting System was briefly detained near the compound. He was released after his statement was recorded.
Mohd Sukri said police are still attempting to trace the woman whom HKL had complained about.
The beefing-up of security also comes amid Malaysia's deteriorating relations with North Korea over Jong-nam's assasination.
Jong-nam's son, Kim Han-sol, is also reportedly arriving in Malaysia to claim his father's body.
Jong-nam's family have been living in exile in Macau, China.
The North Korean ambassador's vehicle was seen at HKL several times since Jong-nam's assassination, in a bid to claim his body.
Last Friday, North Korean ambassador Kang Chol spoke to journalists outside HKL, condemning Malaysia for not releasing the body to North Korea and accused Malaysia of colluding with "hostile forces".
Yesterday, Kang Chol again accused Malaysia of trying to pin Jong-nam's murder on North Korea and demanded that North Korea be involved in the investigation.
Foreign Affairs Minister Anifah Aman responded by saying that Kang Chol had issued "lies and half-truths" and that they were insulting to Malaysia.

Jong-nam died on Feb 13 after being smothered with an unidentified chemical by a woman at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2).
Police have since arrested the woman, a Vietnam passport holder, as well as another woman who holds an Indonesian passport.
Police have also arrested a North Korean citizen and are looking for four more North Korean nationals who are believed to have fled the country.-Mkini
