Car tried to ram me, says crimebuster Sanjeevan

After recovering from a near death experience from gunfire, anti-crime activist R Sri Sanjeevan yesterday complained of being tailed by a car after checking a vice-den in Negri Sembilan.

Sanjeevan (left in photo) said he returned to Bahau yesterday afternoon from his home after getting a tip-off that some students visit a vice-den there.

“I went to the place at about 4pm, and upon arriving there, I noticed that a Perodua Kancil car was watching us.

"We drove around and saw the car tailgate us and the driver wagged his middle finger at me.

“My driver then sped off but the car still followed us for about 20 minutes around town.

“At a corner, my driver left me by the side of the road without the suspect seeing, and I saw the Kancil car still tagging my car.

“My driver claimed that the Kancil had tried to ram into my car,” said the anti-crime activist.

“However, his driver managed to race off,” he said.

Sanjeevan, who was MyWatch chairperson said he tried to call the Bahau police station, and the police operations room and the District Police chief several times to alert them over the incident.

However, there was no response

He now remains unsure whether to lodge a police report over the incident despite PKR de-facto leader Anwar Ibrahim advising him to do so.

Sanjeevan was shot in the chest in Jempol, Negri Sembilan last July after receiving death threats for his crime prevention efforts.

He spent months recuperating from the wound in a hospital.
