SISTER CONFIRMS: Siti Aishah stands by her 'cause', NOT SURE if she's still Muslim
SEPANG - Siti Aishah Abdul Wahab, the estranged Maoist activist who was freed from her “captors” in South London last month reaffirmed her promise to return to Malaysia in about nine months time.
Her sister Kamar Mahtum, 73, who arrived here in Kuala Lumpur International Airport from London at about 7:40am this morning, said her sister was “in good spirits and was “looking forward to coming back home” to the country after having lost contact with her family for over 30 years.
Speaking to reporters at the airport after a 14-hour long haul flight Kamar, a former teacher who was accompanied by political activist Hishamuddin Rais throughout the visit said she was grateful to meet with her sister for over one and a half hours at a ‘secret’ location.
“It took a while to sink in because the earlier parts of the meeting was taken up by wailing, shouting and crying,” she said.
Didn't ask if sister was already married? Wouldn't that be one of the first questions?
She maintained that Siti was never enslaved, but insisted that the activist had been well-taken care of by her friends and comrades.
Kamar said Siti would only return to Malaysia “after her ‘work’ was done” as she felt compelled to complete her service to her cause.
Asked whether Siti was still muslim, Kamar said “only god knew because it was between her and Allah,”
On Siti’s marital status, Kamar also said she did not know. - NST
